Day 86

I love sunny days! They help with everyone’s mood. People seem a little more patient and I notice even in myself that it takes that little bit more to send me over the edge.

I went for a walk at lunch time today to try and soak up some of that vitamin D. I found myself in a catholic church memorial garden that I didn’t know was there. It was beautiful, it has a modern water feature at the centre with tall mirrors around it. It was very quiet and very peaceful. It’s been a while since I’ve found a little hidden gem like that. My only disappointment was that I didn’t take any pictures while I was there. There was a photographer there when I was. I think he was taking advantage of the light although I didn’t speak to him.

I went to the gym on my way home from work. It was hard. I went 3 times last week and I am aiming for the same or more this week. I am trying to get my stamina back for running. Running and weights are my two favourite things in the gym, they are also the two hardest for me. I ran for 10mins at a 5.5mph pace (just shy of 9kph). My old pace, when I was at my fittest was just shy of a 10kph pace and I could manage 5km without slowing (well, I did it that one time, so I know it’s possible). I am thinking for the fitness parts of my challenge I should set myself some running goals again for motivation.

Today has been expensive. I had a few little things to pay (bought a new t-shirt too…) and I also taxed my car for the coming year. But my finances are definitely better than they used to be. They are still not completely in control and I have been thinking about that today and setting some goals about how to get there. More about that when I have concreted some plans.

I’m still tired from the weekend. I need a decent sleep this weekend because I have a busy week ahead. Oh, I have finally finished the gusset on the first sock. Tomorrow we start down the foot! I’ve never taken so long to get to this point before.

  1. Sunny days are certainly the best. Also I agree that a lunchtime walk can really help to balance your life, I need to take a leaf out of your book and do the same.
